Praise be to of “la ilaha illa Allah” Bearing witness “la ilaha illa Allah” and that “Muhammadun Rasul Allah” is the first pillar of the five pillars of Islam. And the meaning of “la ilaha illa Allah” is that nothing worshipped is worthy of worship except Allah—it is simultaneously a denial and affirmation. “la ilaha” is denial of all worship other than that of Allah. “illa Allah” is affirmation that all worship is for Allah Alone without partners. Meaning of “Muhammad Rasul Allah” As for the declaration, “Muhammadun Rasul Allah ,” its meaning is the assertion of the message of Muhammad peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and to believe in it and to adhere to it by speech, action and faith, and to avoid all that is against it, whether it be sayings, actions, or intentions. In other words, obeying him in what he ordered and believing in what he said and relayed and avoiding what he has forbidden and denounced and not worshipping Allah except as he has ordained. And Allah knows best. What is it to be a Muslim? The answer is not as complicated as you may think. To be a Muslim you must sincerely believe in the absolute oneness or uniqueness of God, this is an Islamic concept known as Tawhid. A true believer sees Allah as the only entity worthy of worship, there’s no other, no partnership, nor idols that is deserving of praise. Allah is the ultimate creator, there’s no close second. It is only through his will that things happen. The other condition of being a Muslim is the belief in his messenger, Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam. That’s all there’s to it. At the heart, this is what Islam is about. This concept is known as Shahada and is emodied by the saying “la ilaha illallah muhammadur rasulullah”. In Islam, for a Muslim believer, the guiding principle is the Shahada or declaration of faith. It’s embodied in the recitation of, la ilaha illallah muhammadur rasulullah. This is why the Shahada is also called the first pillar or tenet of Islam. It’s the basis for which the foundation of Islam is built. Built on-top of this foundation is zakat charity, daily prayers, fasting during month of Ramadan, pilgrimage to hajj, and other practices. But the whole building is compromised if you don’t believe in the basic tenet. In Surah Imran, ayat 19 Allah says, “Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam.” In Arabic la ilaha illallah muhammadur rasool allah is written, لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّٰهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ ٱللَّٰهِ‎ As mentioned before this encompasses two concepts There is no deity but Allah. Dan aku pernah mendengar dia berkata.”Aku telah mendengar Rasulullah Saw bersabda “Tiada aku melihat yang lebih bermanfaat dari pada La ilaha illallahu Muhammadur Rasulullahi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam.”Tetapi Syekh Ahmad ibn Idris telah mendapat keistimewaan berupa pengajaran dari Rasulullah Saw agar menambahkannya dengan, “Fi Kulli Lamhatin Wa Nafasin Adada Ma Wasiahu ilmullah.”Ini menyebabkan zikir itu berlipat ganda nilainya. Telah bercerita Syekh Ahmad ibn Idris, Pada suatu ketika, telah bersabda Rasulullah Saw “La ilaha illallahu Muhammadur Rasulullahi Fi Kulli Lamhatin Wa Nafasin Adada Ma Wasiahu ilmullah.”Telah aku simpan yakni at-Tahlil al-Makhsus / az Zikr al-Makhsus untukmu wahai Ahmad. Engkau tiada didahului oleh siapapun ajarkanlah ia kepada para sahabatmu supaya mreka dapat berlomba-lomba dengan orang-orang yang terdahulu Al-Awa’il.”Syekh Ahmad ibn Idris Ra. berkata Andai kata ada orang yang mengucapkan, “La ilaha illallah Muhammadur Rasulullah” dari masa Sayyidina Adam As hingga masa ditiupkan Sangka Kala, tapi ada seseorang yang membaca zikir Fii Kulli Lamhatin satu kali saja, niscaya pahalanya melebihi pembacaan yang sebelumnya mendapatkan keberkahan dari membaca zikir Fii Kulli Lamhatin untuk kita semua, Aaamiiin...
